Electro Fogger

Post harvest treatment by thermal fogging Scald inhibitors, fungicides, sprout inhibitors, working lines, packing house and cold chamber disinfection chemicals

The thermal fogging is a technique for the post-harvest treatment of fruit and vegetables directly in the cold storage room. The machine produces a very fine fog by the use of specific liquid fogging formulations. The size of droplet forming the fog is lower than 1 micron.

The fog is vehicle of active ingredients, like Etoxyquine, DPA, TBZ, CIPC, etc. it is stable during hours, moving slowly in the cold storage as far as the inner part of the bins, independently on their position in the chamber: each fruit is so individually and homogeneously coated by the chemical treatment.

Fogging chemicals produced by XEDA are a wide range of products which can be used for the post-harvest treatment of many fruits and vegetables, like apple, pear, peach, kiwi fruit, citrus, grapes, potato, tomato, and Belgian endive and for the fungicidal treatments in green- houses. A non exhaustive list of chemicals already available is:

  • Scald inhibitors based on Ethoxyquine and DPA
  • Fungicides based on TBZ, Imazalil, OPP, Captan.
  • Sprout inhibitor based on CIPC
  • Packing house disinfection chemical based on OPP
